What is the chat assistant?

The typed chat and live voice widget on this website is an AI-powered assistant. It is designed to answer general questions about our practice, services, and office — the kind of information you would find anywhere on this site. It is not staffed by a dentist or a member of our team, and it does not have access to any patient records.

Not a clinical visit or patient-records channel

Typed chat and live voice are for general practice information and scheduling help only. They are not a dental visit, not a diagnosis, and not a place to share protected health information (PHI). This website assistant is not a treatment, payment, or records channel, and using it does not create a clinical relationship. Longmont Dental does not claim that website chat or voice is HIPAA-compliant or covered by a Business Associate Agreement. Please call the office for care, insurance questions, or anything private.

Do not share personal or health information

The chat assistant does not need — and should never receive — private information to answer your question. Please do not type or say your:

  • Full name, date of birth, or Social Security number
  • Health insurance ID, group number, or plan details
  • Medical or dental history, diagnoses, or medications
  • Credit card, bank account, or other financial information

If your question requires sharing that kind of detail, please call us directly instead.

What the chat cannot do

The chat assistant cannot perform any of the following actions on your behalf:

  • Schedule, confirm, or cancel appointments
  • Verify your insurance coverage or benefits
  • Provide a dental diagnosis or clinical recommendation
  • Prescribe medications or advise on treatment plans
  • Access your patient account or records

For any of these needs, please contact our office directly — we're happy to help.

Not for dental emergencies

If you are experiencing a dental emergency — such as severe pain, a knocked-out tooth, uncontrolled bleeding, or swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing — do not use chat or live voice. Call our office immediately at (720) 815-4733. If it is after hours or life-threatening, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Accuracy and reliance

AI assistants can occasionally provide incomplete or incorrect information. Responses from typed chat and live voice are for general guidance only and should not be relied upon as professional dental or medical advice. When in doubt, call us — we will always give you the most accurate and up-to-date information.

How chat messages are processed

Typed messages and live voice audio may be transmitted to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate a response. Voice is processed the same way as typed chat. Longmont Dental does not store or log audio recordings, does not use chat or voice conversations for marketing, does not sell them, and does not associate them with patient records. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.
